Inter-Activity is a first attempt of composing and realizing an 'interactive' score. This is materialized in the fact that conductor and (improvising) pianist, and at some points also the ensemble itself, are offered various degrees of flexibility in directing, inciting and timing the ensemble during the course of the piece. Nevertheless, the scenario of the piece is fixed. At some spots later on in the piece the material that is heard depends on what the pianist is presenting on the spot and how this is being transformed by the other musicians.
