Insimultaneousness

CR: 53
Year: 2008
Duration: 4'33"
Instrumentation: 4 Pianos & Performer

Insimultaneousness is a kind of musical game, for 4 pianos and one performer.

The pianists are all playing the same part. It consists of notes and chords that must be played in the given order, somewhere between the time brackets that are indicated in the score. The exact timing will be determined on the spot by the pianist. As a result, the pianists will rarely attack the same note (or chord) at the same moment.

In case two or more pianists attack the same note (or chord) together at the exact same time, the performer (standing on a platform) should clap his/her hands immediately.
