Being in the second year of high school (I was 13 years old), I wrote a piece for string orchestra called Violince or peacicato. After I had played the piece to my piano teacher Ko Zwanenburg, he decided to take me to Henk Alkema, who became my first composition teacher. Almost 13 years later I looked at the piece again and thought it was a pretty ok piece, which led me to make a number of minor improvements to the piece, mainly concerning spelling and orchestration, to make it ready for performance.
